Underage Round 12 Wrap Up

Underage Round 12 Wrap Up

The Under 13s played their final roster game on Monday night, going down in a great performance against Slab Road.

Slab Road batted first, and were able to post 6-143, with Dylan Parremore and Anthony Harrisson getting 2 wickets each, and Scott Blackett and Broughten Chapman 1 each.

In reply, Jaxon Thorpe got the side off to a great start with 17 retired, whilst Scott Blackett scored 13 retired.

Lachie Cordwell had his best hit for the year, knocking up 14 retired, and Broughton Chapman hit 4 boundaries to post 21 retired towards the end of the innings, with North Huon finishing on 4-116.

This season has been a great learning curve for the young group, playing against opponents a lot older than them, and they will gain heaps out of the year and come back bigger and better next year.

Many thanks must go to Dean Harriss and Mitch Sullivan for looking after the group for the year, and for those others that helped out throughout the year.

Under 15s made the trip out to Kettering on Friday evening, with the weather not looking great in the last roster match.

Batting first, the Warriors were able to knock together 5-129 from 20 overs, with major contributors being Will Quarrier with 26rno, Jayden Richards 21rno, Jackson Geeves continued his good form with 15, and more pleasing was Jackson Bumford and Jakeb Shelverton both getting a chance up the top of the order, and chasing in with 14rno and 14 respectively in their best hits for the year.

In reply, Kettering put in a good performance to come within 15 runs in their allotted overs. Again, all bowlers put in well without having a major standout, with 6 separate bowlers getting wickets.

The win sees the side progress to the Grand Final, which will be held at Cygnet this coming Friday March  2 from 4:30pm. All senior players and supporters are encouraged to go along and lend a hand and support the lads.
