Saturday saw the penultimate roster round commence, and the Warrior resources stretched thin with over 2 cricket sides unavailable this week.
With a couple of ring ins, we were still able to field 4 full sides, but A and B Grade were not required, with heavy rain early on Saturday causing the abandonment of both games without a ball being bowled.
That left C Grade to fly the flag on Sunday, with C1 travelling to Snug, and found themselves chasing a total of 245.
Brock Elliston, playing just his second game for the year, made sure the total wasn’t anymore capturing a 5 wicket haul, with Will Quarrier, Daniel Page and Jonny Thorpe all capturing singles.
Dean Harriss gave the visitors something to bat around with 64 at the top of the order, but his dismissal saw any chance of a victory evaporate. Dylan Geeves and Jonny Thorpe both got starts, and Mick Anning put on and undefeated 43 run stand with son Jesse at the end of the innings, but the Warriors never really got going, however did finish out their 50 overs with 8-169.
C2 didn’t have the best of days at home against the Southern Tigers, falling over for just 39, which the visiting side had no trouble passing.
This coming weekend sees the Under 15s play in the Grand Final on Friday night at Cygnet from 4:30pm, and the club is having an Op Shop night on Saturday – all welcome.
