The North Huon Cricket Club has finalized its coaching appointments for the upcoming season, and is thrilled with the appointment of last years A Grade captain Josh Stevenson as Captain/Coach for the 2018-19 season.
Josh, whilst relatively young in years, is approaching his 200th game for the club, and brings a wealth of experience to the position. The addition of the coaching role will be a further step forward in the leadership role for him, from having the captaincy last year.
He will be supported this year by recruit Lachie Fraser, who joins the club from South Hobart Sandy Bay. Lachie is a former Tasmanian Future Leagues player and state Under 19’s captain, and his experience and work ethic will be invaluable to the Club in his assistant coach role.
Adam Crowe will reprise his assistant coaching role from last year. and whilst last year’s coach Brad Pitt has stepped back from the role due to family commitments, he will be looking to add to his tally of runs from last year, and provide a base for the rest of the side to bat around.
The Club will field 4 senior sides again this year, as well as continuing its junior program.
Senior training will commence with pre-season sessions at the High Performance Cricket Centre on the 4 Mondays in September from 6pm, with Friday session at the Huonville PCYC from 6pm, followed by gathering at the Ranelagh clubrooms.
Any new or returning players are welcome to come along, and be part of an exciting year for the Glen Huon and Ranelagh communities.
The Club’s AGM will be held next Thursday, August 23, at the Ranelagh Clubrooms from 7pm. All members are welcome to attend and see how the Club is travelling for the upcoming season.
