Round 11 Wrap Up

Round 11 Wrap Up

The North Huon A Grade side hosted Southern Tigers on Sunday, in conjunction with the Clubs Past Players Day.

After being asked to bowl first, Kieren Wright struck in his second over to take 2 quick wickets, and Josh Stevenson followed up with another to an amazing catch from Bevan Roberts.

Another 2 wickets to Stevenson saw the Tigers really on the back foot, and they were never able to recover, Braeden Page taking 3 tail end wickets to see the Tigers rolled for 77.

Sam Roberts and Bra Pitt headed out to bat in front of a large crowd, and didn’t disappoint, pushing the score to 41 before Pitt was dismissed for 33. Roberts (16*) then teamed with Kyle Paul (28*) to see the total passed in the 17th over and record 3 wins on the trot.

A big thanks to the Southern Tigers for accomodating the change of day, and to all of those that attended the past players day. The club is honoured to have so much history tied up with the Glen Huon and Ranelagh Grove Cricket Club’s, and this day is always good to reflect on those clubs.

B Grade travelled to Judbury on Saturday, and Shane Fletcher’s tweaker’s turned through the home side to see them dismissed for 199. Fletchers 5-30 went with Riley Anning’s 2 wickets in a great spell through the middle of the innings, after Judbury had built a steady partnership.

In reply, a couple of calamitous run outs at the top order set the tone, and only Fletcher (36) and Marcus Raine (26*) offering any resistance before the Warriors were bundled for just 87.

C1 faced a similar fate on Saturday against Blackmans Bay, and again thanks must go to the Sharks for the day change. Batting first, only Brendan Kull got a stat with 34 as C1 were bowled out for 95, which the Bay had no trouble passing for the loss of 3 wickets.

C2 Grade travelled out to Snug, and the home side were able to post 7-256. Blake Lovell was the pick of the bowlers with 2-22 from his 10 overs, and Thomas Lovell also chipped in with 2. In reply, Connor Bryant held the innings together with 49, but agains lacked support, C2 being bowled out for 107.

Next week sees a week off for the rep game, and the Grade split the following upon resumption of the roster.
