Underage Round 3 Wrap Up

Underage Round 3 Wrap Up

The Underages entered round 3 this week hoping for better weather.

The Under 13s had the bye, but took the chance to have an intra-club match, which will be invaluable to them. Most of this group is well below Under 13, and it is a credit to them how well they have performed in the first couple of games.

The Under 15s journeyed up to the picturesque Kettering Oval on Friday evening, and pulled a Joe Root and won the toss and sent the opposition in.

Again, all bowlers bowled well without having an individual stand out, but it is great to see all the players (all 10) getting the ball and bowling well, and wickets were taken by Jackson Bumford, first year player Connor Strong, and Baden Jack Arnstrong.

In reply to the Mariners 3-130 from 30, Jayden Richards fell early for 5, and Daniel Partridge was the aggressor in his partnership with Jonny Thorpe, falling for 31 with the score on 47.

It was smooth sailing from there, with Thorpe retiring on 37, and Sam Kile getting the chance to prove his worth wit ha great knock of 33 not out, seeing the side pass the total 2 down with 9 overs to go, with Will Quarrier (31 not out) finishing the game quickly, landing 2 consecutive balls close to the Bruny Ferry.

A superb all round team performance by all.
