North Huon kicked off the 2017-18 season recording 2 from 2 wins in the opening round of T20s.
Travelling first to Snug, North Huon posted 8-127 from their 20 overs after captain Josh Stevenson won the toss and batted.
Sam Roberts and Kyle Paul got the score to 28 before Roberts was dismissed for 10. Kyle Paul was next dismissed for 22 with the score on 48. Andy Crowe and Liam Ward contributed 23 and 24 for respectively, whilst Jamie Mullins welcomed the season with 6 off the first ball he faced.
In reply, Stevenson and Kieren Wright both bowled tight overs to restrict Snug to 12 from 4 overs.
Ward made the first breakthrough, before Braeden Page picked up a couple of wickets. Connor Robson and Mullins were able to take a wicket each and hold Snug to 5-108 from their 20 overs.
A quick trip down the road back to Ranelagh saw the side taking on Slab Road in the second game.
Slab chose to bat first, and Ward let fly, bowling 3 sharp overs and taking 1-2.
Adam Crowe took the next wicket at 35, and from there spin took charge, with Luke Stocks and Page taking 3 wickets each, to take Slab from 2-36 to 8-70, before Jackson Pastoor came on to claim the last 2 wicket, and bowl Slab out for 73.
Paul was the mainstay of the runs chase, holding one end down to record 39 not out, as North Huon passed the total 5 wickets down, with 5 overs to go.
Round 1 kicks off this coming week, with A Grade hosting Margate at Ranelagh, B Grade travelling to Margate and C1 Grade hosting Kettering at Ranelagh on Sunday. C2 Grade have the bye
The Clubs season launch will be this Thursday at the Ranelagh clubrooms, which is a great chance to get down and meet the group for the coming year.
