Junior Warriors Blast It

The North Huon Warriors stage 1 team hosted Kettering at the showgrounds on Monday evening.

Anthoney captained the side for the first time, and the Warriors were sent into the field. Alex (2-4) was on target again, and wickets were shared round with Felix, Seb, Max and Jack all claiming scalps. The cricket scoring app created a few dramas on the sidelines, with the Mariners ending their 20 overs at 9-96.

The Warriors batters got off to a steady start with Seb (21) and then Anthoney (10) getting among the runs. It was still tight until Connor (31) cleared the rope, and then Alex (38 with 8 boundaries!) blasted the Warriors clear. At the end of the innings those four batters had new best-ever high scores. When penalty runs were taken into account, the Warriors won comfortably 8-168 to 9-124.

It was great to see both teams learning, having fun, and playing in the spirit of the game.

Seb Johnston was Warrior of the week for his excellent all-round performance, adding a catch and a run out to his batting and bowling figures.
