The North Huon Warriors Under 15 side was at home to Kingborough last Friday night, losing the toss and being sent into the field, Baydon Armstrong opening the bowling and claiming the Warriors’ first scalp on the second ball of the innings, Reuben Conry snicking one back to wicketkeeper Sam Kile for a duck, Kingborough 1-0.
In his very next over, Armstrong claimed his second, this time Luke McCallum clean bowled for the same score.
Captain Patrick Harnwell was ticking the score over, but the wickets were falling around him, Oliver Grubb becoming Armstrong’s third victim, again clean bowled, this time for five runs.
Dan Partridge then came into the attack, giving away nine runs in his first over, but making up for it by claiming the next wicket with a classy caught and bowled, Nick McCallum gone for one.
Once Jaxon Thorpe came in and claimed Harnwell, clean bowled for 20, that was about the end of the story for Kingborough, bundled out for 60 after 15 overs.
In reply, Broughton Chapman and Luke Smith opened up for the Warriors, Chapman soon falling to Harnwell for three, but Smith racking up the majority of the runs required, finishing with 29 not out, Brady Harriss (11) and Thorpe (8 not out) also contributing, as the Warriors cruised to victory in the 12th over.
