Grand Final Report

North Huon’s last remaining side, B Grade, could not come home with any silverware on Saturday, going down to Snug in a tight affair at Ranelagh.

Batting first, the Warriors got off to a flyer through Jackson Pastoor and Will Austin, racing to 94 without loss inside 14 overs, before Pastoor was dismissed for 39.
From there, a steady procession of wickets followed, the home side being bowled out for 180 – a disappointing total after the start.
Dylan Geeves with a wicket in his first over gave the Warriors a perfect start, and wickets soon after from Will Quarrier and Luke Stocks had the game on edge at 3-34.
There was not to be too much success after that though – another wicket to Stocks and 1 to Marcus Raine did keep them in the hunt, but Snug’s best bat continued to find the boundary, until dismissed by Raine with the score on 158. North Huon could do no more, Snug running winner by 4 wickets.
Thanks to all those that help and supported on the day.
Sunday saw the Best and Fairest Count held a the clubrooms, with Brad Pitt taking out the Northie for A Grade. Jackson Pastoor had a great year to claim the B Grade award, as with Braeden Page in C1 Grade. In an even spread in C2, Lucas Sullivan, with his amazing contributions in the games he played in, picked up the Northie for that division.
That nearly closes out the current season for North Huon. The Annual Dinner will be held Saturday, May 18 at the Glen Huon Hall. Please RSVP to Bec on 0406 113 263.
The club is already working hard towards next season, with some important announcements to come in due course.
