It was smiles all around for the North Huon girls tonight, as they played a great all around team game to record a second win against University Tuesday evening.
Captain Mia Thorpe won the toss and elected to bat, and the girls posted 86 off the bat. Shania For played some great conventional shots to score 16, with Maya Bligh contributing the same, whilst Layla Burns, filling in from here regular club after a cancellation, blasted a quick 24 to help push the score up.
In reply, Maddie Chapman and Mia Thorpe helped contain the scoring with some great bowling, and Amity Stanway was fantastic behind the stumps. A late push for runs by Uni saw them score 68 off the bat, but 9 wickets to North Huon saw adjusted scores end up North Huon 122 to Uni 80 – 3 wickets going to Maya, 2 to Layla, and singles to Maddie and Sharnia.
Next game is this coming Tuesday at Ranelagh against Kingborough, and training again Saturday at 11:30am at the Ranelagh nets.
