Round 9 write up

A Grade hosted ladder leaders Blackmans Bay at Glen Huon, in a big test for the side.

With a number of regulars out, a changed line up saw Kieren Wright back in to open the bowling with Jacob Stanway. It took until the introduction of Marcus Raine to make the breakthrough, who dismissed the both openers to bring North Huon into the game.

Kyle Paul piked up another soon after, but some hard hitting from the Sharks gain back momentum. Wright fought hard, taking 2 wickets, but the Sharks were able to post 6-303.

Early wickets didnt help the run chase, and a clump of 3 wickets saw the Warriors slump to 5-45.

Lachie Fraser played a lone hand, and got some support from Stanway and Raine with a pair for 50 run partnerships, but apart from Fraser’s 93, dismissed as the last man, 205 was not enough to bring home the points today.

B Grade travelled to Slab Road, and 3 wickets to Luke Stocks, along with two each to Dylan Geeves and Baydon Armstrong saw Slab Road post 9-260 from their 50 overs.

Will Quarrier hit 30 in the run chase, but lacked support, the youthful B Grade side only posting 101 in reply.

C1 Grade played host to Snug at Glen Huon on Sunday, with the visiting side batting first. A wicket on the first ball to Taylor Campisi helped give the home side early momentum, and steady wickets throughout saw Snug bowled out for 137.

Campisi followed up with 29 at the opt of the order in the run chase, but his dismissal saw North Huon slump to 4-40. Blake Lovell steadied the ship, and then built partnerships with Braxtyn Pike and James Oates to see the total passed 7 down, Lovell finishing on 44 not out in a great knock.

Next weeks gams, the last before the Christmas Break, sees A Grade travel to Slab Road, B Grade at Glen Huon agains Blackmans Bay, C1 Grade has the week off, and C2 Grade travel to Blackmans Bay

The Clubs Christmas Party will be held tonight (Thursday) from 6pm at the Ranelagh Clubrooms – all Junior and Senior players welcome.
