North Huon hosted Woodbridge and Slab Road in a pair of high scoring T20s on Saturday.

In the first game, North Huon batted first, and the top 5 batsmen all contributed to help post a score of 3-205 from their 20 overs. Andrew Kerr grabbed 2 wickets for the visitors, and batting honours went to Lachie Fraser with 53, with Sam Roberts (37), Andrew Crowe (26), Kyle Paul (48*) and Josh Stevenson (36*) all getting starts.
In reply, Stevenson took a couple of early wickets, and a run out to Bevan Roberts left Jeremy Patterson (20) to steady the ship. When youngster Dylan Geeves broke through to remove James Zeitzen, it then became the Andrew Crowe show. Better known for his keeping for his keeping, his 2 overs yielded a quick 5 for, including a hat trick, and for only 3 runs. Geeves grabbed the last wicket to see Woodbridge bowled out for 75.
The second game saw Slab Road and Richard Cowlard put on a masterclass, posting 4-214 with Cowlard brutal with 115*, taking a liking to the leg side boundaries of Glen Huon. Corey Polley assisted with a quick fire 69 at the top of the order, whilst Kyle Paul was the only multiple wicket taker.
North Huon were always in the hunt in the run chase, and a 95 run opening stand from Brad Pitt and Sam Roberts helped them hold their hopes up, before Paddy O’Neill captured Pitt. Cameos from Adam Crowe and Andrew Crowe keep the total in reach, but O’Neill’s 3 wickets helped stem the flow, and 2 tight overs from Adam Maher saw the total pushed out of reach, North Huon finishing on 6-177 and Slab Road recording the win.
B Grade travelled up the road to Blackmans Bay, and after winning the toss again, were once again faced with an Innings held together by Jackson Pastoor.
Jackson batted the bulk of the innings again, scoring 76 out of 143, and went down swinging towards to end. A couple of early wickets to Baydon Armstrong, and a tight spell from Luke Stocks gave a glimmer of hope, but in the end missed chances proved costly, Blackmans Bay cruising through with 5 wickets in hand. Of note was a great little spell from Broughton Chapman, who came in at late notice.
Next week sees A Grade host Woodbridge at Glen Huon, B Grade travel to local rivals Huonville, C1 Grade are on the road to Slab Road, and C2 are also on tour to Woodbridge.
