NORTH HUON WARRIORS U15

The Huon Channel Cricket Association (HCCA) Under 15 competition got underway after the Christmas holiday break last Friday night, with the North Huon Warriors taking on Slab Road at Ranelagh Oval.

With forecast rain, Warriors captain Anthony Harrison won the toss and sent the Roadies into bat, hoping to get through the innings with a dry ball.
With a win against the arch-rivals front of mind, Harrison and Broughton Chapman took up the new ball, the pair bowling out their four overs at the top of the innings.

Harrison snared a couple of wickets, trapping opener Lewis Direen in front for 10 and clean bowling Jack Walter the very next ball, unfortunately unable to complete the hat trick.

At the end of the first eight overs, the Roadies found themselves on 2/35, Harrison finishing with 2/11 and Chapman 0/20.

The youngsters then came on to bowl, Jayden Fletcher (1/7) and Brady Harriss (1/12) the other wicket takers for the Warriors, the Roadies finishing with 4/84 after their allocated 20.

As the Warriors headed out to bat, a light drizzle began to fall, just enough to make the pitch slippery, with a couple of heart stopping chances at run outs missed by the Roadies as batters lost their footing trying to grab quick runs.

Harrison and Chapman opened with the stick, Chapman continuing his run of bad luck with the bat, out first ball off Campbell Clifford through a catch to Ty Faye.

Harrison went on to face his 20 before retiring on 22, Ryan Jager contributed 19 off his 20 balls, also retiring not out.

Ollie Coulson made a quickfire 16 off 16 before holing out off Jack Walter to Amalia Clifford, and Lochie Cordwell also made 13, undefeated, in the bottom order.

The Warriors were home comfortably with two and a half overs to spare, the Roadies bowling out the overs, Warriors finishing their 20 on 5/99.
