Round 9 Wrap Up

Round 9 Wrap Up

Round 9 saw A Grade travel to Longley, and again saw themselves in the field first up.

Bevo Roberts started the ball rolling this week, taking 2 early wickets, before Phil Bell was introduced, with his wily swingers again proving hard to hit, capturing 3-34.

Only an unbeaten 66 from Gray ave the innings substance after being 7-108, and allowed Longley to post a total of 199, with Josh Stevenson also taking 2 wickets.

In reply, Brad Pitt again led from the front with 51 at the top of the order, while Shane Flether and Dean Harriss both posted scores in the teens.

Bell and Adam Crowe then combined at 3-93, and both posted unbeaten half centuries to cruise past the total 3 down with a 110 run partnership, and 20 overs to spare.

Jamie Mullins put in a great performance with B Grade to see Judbury dismissed for 68 at home at Ranelagh.

Opening the bowling, Mullins bowled through his 10 overs overs to take 6-18 and put the game firmly in North Huon’s hands. He was well supported by Cam Woolley with 3-32.

Marcus Jackson, Andy Crowe and Zac Duggan made light work of the small total, losing only the wicket of Duggan on the way to a victory inside 15 overs.

C1 played a tight low scoring game against Kingston Crows. A total of 75 was always going to be tough to defend, but Adrian Tatnell-Cowen did his best to put North Huon in the game, taking 6-25.

It wasn’t enough however, the Crows winning by 1 wicket.

C2 went down to Blackmans Bay, highlights being Mick Thorpe with 31, and Henry McGuire with 22 not out.
