2016-17 season commencement

With the football season closing, North Huon are gearing up for another hot 2016-17 cricket season.

Training has already commenced, with 1 more session tonight (Wednesday Sept 28) at the Huonville PCYC at 6pm, before outdoor training commences next week Tuesday nights at the Glen Huon ground from 6pm, and Thursday nights at Ranelagh from 6pm.

All old and new players are more than welcome to come along.

Josh Woolley is at the helm this season, and has had the playing group through a great pre season in preparation for the commencement of T20s on October 15.

The Junior program is underway as well, with Under 13s and 15s training having 1 more session at the PCYC on Friday Sept 30 at 4pm, and kicking off outdoors at Ranelagh from 4pm on Mondays starting October 3.

We would love to really boost numbers in these areas, so if you have a mate, or are interested in trying out, come along and give it a go.

The Club is also running the Milo Into Cricket Program this year. Targeted for the 5-8 year olds this is a great introduction to cricket. Session will running Sunday mornings from 9am commencing October 30 – please direct any enquiries to marcus@northhuoncc.com

North Huon is also fortunate to have the support of Bennetts Petroleum and Bendigo Bank again for this season – they are valuable partners to the club, and their assistance is muchly appreciated.

The Club is also in the process of compiling any items of historical note from the Glen Huon and Ranelagh Grove (and associated) Cricket Clubs. If you have something that may be of interest, we would love to get a photo of it – whether it be a photo of a trophy, scorebook, items of clothing, or a photo! If you do have something to share, please send to marcus@northhuoncc.com.

Finally, the club is looking at a number of off field events this year. This will be a great chance to reconnect with the Club if you have been away for a while, and are not able to contribute on field. Keep an eye on this space and we would love to see you about.

We look forward to seeing you about this season!
