With the HCCA enjoying a weeks break from the 50 over competition to enjoy the Christmas Pageant and Paul Kelly, the Senior T20 side was left to return to Sherburd Park for the second week in a row, to take on Blackamns Bay in the Semi Final of the T20s.
Whilst there might have been some trepidation after last weeks performance against the same opposition, winning the toss and batting seemed to improve things from the outset, and the side scooted to over 20 before a clump of 4 wickets brought Andy Crowe and Josh Stevenson together, who put on 50 together before Crowe was dismissed.
A little cameo from Jamie Mullins saw the total pushed up to 8-111 from their allotted 20 overs, which gave the bowlers something to defend.
As with last week, a couple of quick wickets started proceedings, and at 3-39 with both last weeks centurians back in the shed there was some very positive signs.
Despite the efforts of Mullins with 2 wickets though, Blackmans Bay knuckled down and were able to pass the score with 10 balls to spare to see them through to the final.
50 over action returns this weekend, with all 4 sides in action. A Grade and C1 are at Glen Huon for the first time this year, allowing for the yearly massage of the Ranelagh ground, and B Grade and C2 are away.
