Round 12 Wrap Up

North Huon held there Past Players and Officials Day on Sunday, with a great turnout attending to recognise the 73-74 Glen Huon reserve A Premiership, the 75-76 Ranelagh Grove A Grade premiership, and the Past Players from these and associated Clubs.
This was a great chance to see some old faces from the Clubs past, and take in the current A Grade side, who hosted Huonville on the day.
Huonville won the toss and elected to bat, and Bevena Roberts had them in trouble early with some late swinging deliveries sending 3 Bulls back to the sheds LBW.
Jake Vincent and Michael Parbs then combined to put Huonville on the front foot, however Parbs’s dismissal saw 3 mores relatively quick wickets fall to leave the visitors on 7-135.
A great rear guard action from Gary Priest and and Josh O’Connor saw 65 runs added before Priest was run out for 42, whilst O’Connor carried his bat for 40 with Huonville bowled out on the final ball for 208. Vincent top scored at the top of the order with a well compiled 49.
With a big crowd present, North Huon got off to a flyer from Brad Pitt and Shane Fletcher, racing to 65 inside 9 overs. Parbs pulled out a jaffa to dismiss Pitt caught behind for 39, then followed up with 2 more wickets in his next over to again swing the ball in Huonville’s favour, North Huon having lost 3-1.
Josh Woolley and Dean Harris pushed the score to 113 before Woolley departed via a fantastic direct hit from Singh. Harris Bell and Paul followed soon after and left the game poised at 7-141 off 36 overs.
From there though it was all North Huon, with Marcus Raine combining with Bevan Roberts to steer the Warriors home with nearly 4 overs to spare.
B Grade travelled to Huonville on Saturday, with no luck in their results. Batting first, they managed around 100 chasing Huonville’s 179.
C1 Grade fared little better at Summerleas on Sunday, only managing 100, which they passed 4 down.
C2 Grade, while going down, had some real positive come out of the game.
Whilst the Slab Road was able to put on 352 for the loss of only 4 wickets, the side was able to respond and bat out their overs, finishing with 7-190 from 40 overs.
George Parremore top scored with 42, Andrew Oates scored 28*, and Chris Burrell and Will Quarrier both scored 26, all with some big improvements.
