Saturday saw the commencement of the 50 over comp, with North Huon looking to carry in their T20 form into the longer format.
A Grade travelled to Snug, and after the home side elected to bat, Josh Stevenson and Bevan Roberts soon had them in all sorts at 4-23, with 2 wickets each. Zac Duggan took another to see them at 5-31 before they dug in to eke out some runs.
A late order partnership saw the score pushed up to 150 before Snug were dismissed in the 47th over, Zac And Brad Pitt also finishing with 2 wickets each.
Brad and Sam Roberts started the run chase in great style, putting on 74 for the opening stand. Despite the loss of a couple of wickets towards the end, North Huon were never really troubled, passing the total 6 down with 5 overs to go, Pitt finishing on 45, and Josh Woolley 38.
B1 hosted Margate, and posted 7-167 after batting first. Jamie Mullins led the way with 37, while David Collins (33) and Will Collins (31*) contributed well.
Mullins and Luke Stocks made short work of the opposition line up, Mullins completing a great double with 4 wickets, while Stocks continued his good early season form with the ball with 5-31.
C1 hosted Southern Tigers on Sunday at Ranelagh, and posted an imposing 6-296 from their 50 overs. Marcus Raine batted through for 125*, and had good stands with Chris Waugh (68) and Tim Thorpe (33). Codie Rawnsley showed promise with 12 not out.
Early wickets to Adrian Tatnell-Cowen and Aiden Geeves saw the pressure on the Tigers early, and the total proved to be too big. When a late partnership formed, Max Lovell was able to break it with 2 wickets, and ensure the win for North Huon. A really good spirited game.
The young C2 side travelled to Snug, and posted 141 thanks largely to James Oates with 38 and Mick Thorpe with 35. In reply, the bowlers could not quite restrict the Snug side who passed the total with 4 overs to go, again in another good spirited encounter. Thomas Lovell picked up 2 wickets for the visitors.
A Grade have the first home appearance this week, hosting Longley at Ranelagh, while B1 travel to Judbury. C1 are away at Lightwood Park against the Eagles, with the C2 side take on Slab Road at Ranelagh on Sunday.
