North Hobart – North Huon Partnership

North Hobart Cricket Club is pleased to announce that we will field a fourth senior team this season after agreeing to a partnership with North Huon Cricket Club.

North Hobart Director of Cricket Mark Bowerman said the partnership is an excellent opportunity for those senior players that would miss out on a game if not named in the first, second or third grade Cricket Tasmania Premier League sides.

“It also provides our juniors with the chance for an additional game and for some of our talented female players to play something other than T20 matches,” said Mr Bowerman.

“I have also received positive feedback from some of our past players interested in coming back for a game if required.

“Just as importantly, it has the potential, if embraced as it should be, to strengthen the club by ensuring all players in all teams are under more pressure to perform and hold their spot in their side.

This team will be captained by Marcus Raine and assisted by David Collins and other senior North Hobart players.

The team will play as North Huon Demons, wearing North Hobart clothing, in the B2 Grade of Huon/Channel competition, playing 14 One Day games plus a T20 competition to be held on the 10th and 17th October.

Four of the team’s seven home games will be played at the Cross Roads (synthetic) ground.

Training for North Hobart players remains exactly the same with the fourth team selected in the same manner as the other CTPL teams.

Mr Bowerman thanked Mr Raine and the North Huon Executive for providing a wonderful opportunity for all North Hobart players to continue playing and socialising together

Mr Bowerman also said North Hobart will do what it can to ensure this is not a one-way street and the club can provide benefit to North Huon.
